Julie is a former graduate of deafblind studies from Medicine Hat College (2009). She worked as a dedicated deafblind intervenor for six years before returning to school to complete her bachelors in community rehabilitation and disabilities at the University of Calgary (2017). Julie provided various levels of intervention, working as an intervenor with Calgary Board of Education, as well as in a community capacity.
The amazing individuals whom Julie has had the privilege of being able to work with affected her involvement in various camps, workshops, and events aimed at providing enriching experiences for individuals who are deafblind.
Julie joined with CDBA as Vice President in November of 2018. She strongly believes in strengthening the voice of the deafblind community in advocating access to quality services and supports and in providing networking opportunities for all persons involved.
